Family Law

Issues involving families create a mixture of concerns, including legal, emotional, and financial. We recognize the often contentious yet hopeful nature of such situations, and provide the requisite legal advocacy and counsel to meet the needs of each particular client.

We handle divorces, child custody and child support cases. We also have a strong practice in the area of adoption, including agency and private adoptions.

We take pride as well in working with clients who present family law matters involving same-sex partners and couples. The idea of what constitutes a family continues to evolve, and we work with clients who present such issues that require creative thinking in accordance with the laws as they currently exist.

General Civil Litigation

We have experience in areas of civil litigation, including general employment and civil service employment matters, insurance litigation, and deceptive trade practices and consumer related issues. We work with clients based on their needs, adapting to each particular area of law those needs present.

Probate

We handle all areas affecting probate, including guardianship, power of attorney, and wills. We recognize that preparing for certain situations, such as the incapacity or death of a loved one, is just as important as the events that occur afterward. We take seriously the emotional nature of the probate process and take care to address the needs of our clients with sensitivity and compassion.

We understand that persons in non-traditional relationships including same-sex relationships, have particular needs that must be addressed in order to avoid unintended and difficult occurrences after the loss of a loved one. We work with these clients to ensure that their desires are achieved through the probate process.

Criminal

Our experience with criminal matters allows us to defend a wide variety of criminal situations. We advocate on behalf of clients in both misdemeanor and felony criminal representation, seeking all possible alternatives for resolution, from dismissal to jury trial.
